Living in Place
There’s an increasing awareness in the kitchen and bath industry of the need to create safer, accessible and efficient kitchens for those who are in wheelchairs or physically challenged. Simple acts that many of us take for granted, such as lifting a Kitchenaid mixer from a cabinet to a counter, can be nearly impossible for someone in a wheelchair. Recently I was asked to co-author an article on living in place for KBBonline.com. Together with Ebony Stephenson of Designs by Ebony, we explore some solutions that can make a new or existing kitchen a place that everyone can use and enjoy.
